How To Surprise The Other Women In Your Life

MakingHerDay.com is, for the most part, a site for our significant others.  However, we can’t forget the other lovely women in our lives either.

We have great Mothers, funny Grandmothers, bratty sisters, aunts that we cherish, co-workers, friends, and women throughout our lives that mean a lot to us.  So why not try and make them feel special too.

Here are a few ideas that we can do to surprise each of them:

Mothers

Come on fellas, you guys know your mom better than us.  Think about her favorite things-her favorite candy, a book you think she might like, or maybe you’ve heard her mention an item or two that she saw at a store recently.  Pick it up for her and before you leave to go home or before you say goodnight, leave it on the table for her to find that night or later the next day.

Another smile maker for mom is a little personal note from you to her.  As with the little gifts, you’ll want to leave this behind for her to find later. Leave it for her in a place where you know she’s bound to see it.  Get her a card with a sweet message and write anything on the inside cover about her and it’ll make her happy.  If you don’t have time to go pick up a card, any piece of paper, a pen, and your own words to her will work just fine.

If you’re up to doing something for your mother, just do whatever feels right.  She’ll love your idea no matter what it is that you do.  Buy her a flower from time to time.  Tell her she did a good job raising you, and call from time to time just to say hello.  These little things let’s her know you haven’t forgotten about her and that you appreciate her.

Daughters

For the little princesses in our lives, little surprises of just about anything keeps them smiling.  Their favorite candy or if they’re into anything in particular at the moment, get them something that deals with that theme.

Also, always try to be apart of their lives in someway.  If they have a cell phone, let them know Dad loves them via a text message from time to time.  Even a little text message with just a “smiley face” (equal sign and parenthesis “ = ) ” will make them smile and let them know you’re thinking of them.

If they don’t have a cell phone, a little note addressed to them just saying “Daddy Loves You” left for them somewhere where they’ll see it, will let them know that they’re on your mind.

Family (Sisters/Grandmothers/Aunts/Cousins)

A nice time to surprise a family member with a gift is when you’re on your way to go visit them.  If there’s something that they like or are into lately, try bringing it to them the next time you see them or on the next family gathering.

If you rarely see these family members, the best surprise to do for them is a simple phone call from time to time saying hello and checking to see how they’re doing.  Catching up with them for a few minutes here in there keeps you in touch, let’s them know you care about them, and keeps you present in their life.

Friends & Co-Workers

You probably won’t tend to do this to often for a friend or co-worker, but if you’re out and you see something that either reminds you of a funny story or situation that happened with them, pick it up and give it to them the next time you see them for a good laugh.

Something like a T-Shirt with a funny quote or picture or an object that just by looking at it reminds you of a memory you have with them is something you could by and surprise them with.
